ASOG 66.0 Overview

Access Service Ordering Guidelines (ASOG )
Industry guidelines for issuing Access Service Requests (ASRs) as sponsored by the Ordering and Billing Forum (OBF) and the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS). These guidelines outline the forms, data elements and the business rules necessary to create an Access Service Request.

On Mar 18, 2023, the new ASOG version will be ASOG 66.0, it has been included as part of VFO's validation process. This portion of the Help system is to allow users to gain a greater understanding of the forms, fields and valid entries in an ASOG compliant Access Service Request.

What's New in ASOG

This section provides the changes made to the Help System to be compliant with the new ASOG guidelines.

The flash-cut to ASOG 66.0 on Mar 18, 2023, introduces the following changes to the application, business rules, and help system.

New Fields

TRANSPORT Form Changes:

1. The GETO field will have new dropdown values of B, D, G and I along with its revised tooltip.

 

2.     The new LATENCY field will be displayed to the right of the MSFS field.  The tooltip for the LATENCY field will read: “Identifies the latency commit value for optical wave services. 7 alpha/numeric characters.  Example: 123.456”.

 

 

MSL Form Changes:

1. The GETO field will have new dropdown values of B, D, G and I along with its revised tooltip.

 

 

SES Form Changes:

1. The GETO field will have new dropdown values of B, D, G and I along with its revised tooltip.

 

EUSA Form Changes:

 1. The GETO field in the Primary Location Service section will have new dropdown values of B, D, G and I along with its revised tooltip.

 

2. The GETO field in the Secondary Location Service section will have new dropdown values of B, D, G and I along with its revised tooltip.

 

EVC Form Changes:

1. The new OAM_IND field is displayed to the right of the NUT field in the ETHERNET VIRTUAL CONNECTION section with the following tooltip: “Identifies a request for OAM capability on the EVC/OVC, such as Managed Access E-Line Service.  1 alpha character.  Valid Value: “M” = Indicates the requested service is MAEL Service as defined in MEF 62”.

 

2. A new OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATIVE AND MAINTENANCE DETAIL section will be added above the ETHERNET VIRTUAL CONNECTION UNI MAPPING DETAIL section, with the following fields:

a.       OAM_ACT with dropdown values C, D, N

b.      MEG_L with dropdown values 3, 4, 5

c.       MEP_ID

d.      SMAN

e.       SMANF with dropdown values 2, 32

f.        SMM with dropdown values D, E

g.      P_ACT with dropdown values D, N

h.      P_MID and with it’s corresponding tooltips.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PIP Form Changes:

1. The GETO field will have new dropdown values of B, D, F, G, H and I along with its revised tooltip.

 

 

DIS Form Changes: 

1. The GETO field will have new dropdown values of B, D, F, G, H and I along with its revised tooltip

 

 

CONFIRMATION Response Changes:

1. The new MEP_ID will be displayed to the right of the RVCI field in the VIRTUAL CONNECTION CONFIRMATION section, with the following tooltip: “Indicates identifier for the Maintenance End Point (MEP). 4 numeric characters.  Valid Values: 1 - 8191”.

 

 

 

2.      The new SMAN field will be displayed right of the MEP_ID field or in a new row below the RECCKT field of the VIRTUAL CONNECTION CONFIRMATION section, with the following tooltip: “Indicates identifier for the Maintenance Entity Group (MEG). 45 alpha/numeric characters.  Examples: 92/VLXX/12345//OB, ICC1AUMC9Z”.

 

 

 

3.      The new PEER MAINTENANCE END POINT LIST section will be displayed above the ETHERNET VIRTUAL CIRCUIT CONFIRMATION section with the P_MID field.  The tooltip for the P_MID field will read: “Provides identifier for each Peer Maintenance End Point (MEP) that is the same Maintenance Entity Group (MEG) as the MEP.  4 numeric characters.  Valid Values: 1 – 8191”.

 

 

C/NR Response Changes:

 

1.      The Order Response Creation GUI will display a new value Response Type Dropdown of “Address Modification – CNR Address Modification”.

 

 

 

 

2.      The New ASR Response – Address Modification – CNR Address Modification GUI is displayed with it’s fields and corresponding tooltips.

 

 

 

FILTER Changes:

1. A new status of Address Modification will be added to the Access Status section, after Accepted.

 

  1. A new status of Address Modification will be added to the Receive Status section, below Accepted with checkboxes for Errored, Pending Submission, Saved, Sent, ReSent, System_Errored, Submitted and Validated.
